noody_1000 Home Remedies or Ayurvedic Products to Improve Weight
My daugther is a 3 yrs. She is very thin wt: 11 kg approx. She takes 1/2 kg, milk for a day. I give 2 Almond 2 Munakha with 250 ml of toned milk. Last year I have given Ashwagandha for 2 months but no results shown. As well as I have son 7 yrs. his wt: 17 kg, He has also to eat same things which I m giving daugther. What should I do to improve weight of them. PLease suggest me. Home remedy as well as Ayurvedic product also. Thanks

Apart from any abnormalities like hormonal changes, being fat or overweight is purely heredity. One most important thing, Ashwagandha has no relating putting the weight. All it does is improves the immunity and provides the strength. I have seen many cases of mothers who are just worried because their children are just not 'fat' like others. They often forget that unless the child is active, what do we require fat?? Your child, being lean, can run faster than that 'fat' boy, it is advantage. What we require to see is energy present in the body and not how much layers of fat his body has. However, to put on the weight, increase the dairy products and switch on to the high calories diet for children. If you and your spouse are lean, forget your children will become fat unless they do not catch any hormonal imbalance or any disease, that i do not wish.

It is better that you concentrate on getting their basic health right rather than worrying about body weight. Speaking from my own experience, I was very lean until I was 30 years old, however health was perfect. See that your children get brain nutrients in the form of almonds, walnuts, gingelly seeds, spinach, figs, amlaki, etc. these items at least once weekly in addition to vegetables and fruits available seasonally. Using drumstick leaves for curry and side dish 3 times a week for your children is an easy low cost supplement with very high nutrients for growing children. You may provide them opportunity for games and physical activity, which in turn leads to more hunger and food consumption. However, as Dr. Maulik has mentioned if their body mass is genetic more physical activity may lead to height growth rather than body mass gain until their early adolescence. You may do well to look at things from an overall perspective. Good Luck.
